Nearby Caerleon, has a wealth of Roman remains which includes a fine Amphitheatre, barracks, fortress baths and the National Roman Legion Museum.

The Old market town of Usk is just 6 miles away, set along side a river of the same name, a picturesque small town well known for its award winning flower displays and annual open gardens weekend in June. It has a selection of hotels, restaurants, pubs, shops and history, with its own castle dating from 1170.
