About Us

My family have been farming the land at Ty Capten for the past 90 years, in those days it was very much a mixed farm with cows, horses, sheep, pigs and a few chickens. Now we just keep sheep and some chickens to supply fresh eggs for breakfast.

In 2004 we diversified into the tourism business by letting a wing of the farm house, now in 2009 we have just finished converting the redundant stable and granary into a holiday cottage, which has 3 en suite bedrooms, living and dining room and its own kitchen.

I belong to the farm stay tourism group and also my local tourism group which offers B&B and self catering in Monmouthshire Down Our Lane and also listed on UK Bed and Breakfast - BNBSelect.

The summer is going by at speed, the schools are on holiday, so if you are looking for a break  without the hassle of  airports what better place to be than in the beautiful countryside of Monmouthshire, with many outdoor events from agricultural shows to town festivals, if you want a convenient  yet quiet place to stay to explore our area , base yourself here.
